Barrels
We offer our own line of Supermatch™ barrels manufactured to our exacting specifications in a special configuration to mate with our components. These barrels are turned from the best 416 stainless alloy, button rifled using state-of-the-art machines and cryogenically treated for cold bore shot predictability, minimum thermal drift, outstanding accuracy and extended barrel life.
With our .223/5.56 NATO barrels, we have had great results with a wide range of projectiles from 40 to 77 grains in the 1:8 twist, and we feel it’s the best overall compromise for the type of loads you are most likely to shoot. The 1:8 twist barrel with long projectiles has become the choice of most tactical rifle competitors.
Our standard chambering is the .223 Wylde as we feel it represents the best compromise between the SAAMI commercial spec chamber and the NATO-type chamber resulting in peak accuracy with the widest variety of ammo at safe pressures.
Our .223 Supermatch™ barrels are available in a complete kit with the JP Adjustable Gas System and choice of JP Recoil Eliminator or JP Tactical Compensator seamlessly fit with a polished finish, just as we use them in our rifles. As a low cost option, you can also purchase just the barrel without muzzle break and gas system in the original machine finish, which will be similar to other aftermarket barrels you have seen. However, all our barrels are cryogenically treated and feature JP design contours. These are an outstanding value! Make sure to check the heat sink options below.
In the .308/7.62 NATO, we offer Supermatch™ barrel kits for long action rifles such as the Armalite AR-10, DPMS LR-308 and Bushmaster .308. Available in an 18” light contour with mid-length gas system and a 22” medium contour, these kits feature a 1:11.25 twist rate that will stabilize anything from 110 to 175 grains. These barrels will have the same performance features that have made our .223 Supermatch™ barrels so successful and are also available by themselves without a muzzle break and gas system. Heat sinks for the .750 contour of our .308 barrels are also available.
We also offer the popular .204 Ruger as a complete polished barrel kit including the JP muzzle break, gas system and heat sink but not as a raw barrel. While we do offer the high performance 6.5 Grendel® chambering in our complete rifles such as the CTR-02 and the JP-15, it is not offered as a stand-alone barrel kit or raw barrel. Due to the extreme performance nature of the cartridge, we prefer to offer that option only on rifles that we build.
