Believe or not, the Minnesota snow and cold weather has a charm all its own. It's not something everyone can appreciate, but when you get it, you get it. But man, are we itching to get back under the sun and on the range.
Fortunately, some of our shooters and friends hit the road in February to enjoy the nice weather and bring home some nice prize table hardware down in Mississippi. Team JP shooter, Chris Cazin attended his third Tactical Games match and brought home a nice trophy for his 2nd place finish in Intermediate. If he doesn't watch out, they're definitely going to kick him up to Elite division if he keeps this up.
He might even be able to join long-time friend of JP, Phillip “Yancy” Hanks. Yancy shot his first Tactical Games match ever with his JP-15™ to take home a hard-earned 3rd place finish in Elite! Congrats to both these guys for making us proud. The Tactical Games are no joke!
Not only did these guys manage a great finish at this match, but we have a lot of respect for shooters who are willing to stretch themselves. Obviously, mastering a given shooting discipline is an amazing feat that requires untold hours of dedication. But there's something we admire about taking on a new challenges, especially if it means going from master to novice.
We're proud to see our shooting team members stretching themselves with a new shooting sport this year. At the same time, others are keeping the plates in the air by constantly honing their skills across different guns and match styles. For many of us, it's been the Tactical Games but several of our 3-Gunners are doing us proud in long-range and PCC for the first time in 2020, and we wish them the best.
While JP was always a 3-Gun company first, we've spread our attention as well. In 2020, we're sponsoring 3-Gun, The Tactical Games, USPSA PCC, Steel Challenge, PRS and NRL matches. It's a lot to keep track of, but we want to have the best gear available for the shooters of any discipline we commit to.
As for the Tactical Games and JP shooters will be at our very own Blue Steel Ranch in New Mexico. If you are looking for an awesome shooting experience and a view to die for, be sure to sign up for this match in April. We promise that even veterans of The Games will have a once-in-a-lifetime match at the BSR.
On to this month’s BULLETin business, we have a couple of Pro Posts for you. On the subject of flexing your shooting muscles, we grabbed Team Shooter Cory K. to discuss what it's like to go "full send" in precision rifle switching between gas guns and bolt guns. We also have a follow-up from our old friend Trapr Swanson with more wisdom on hunting with your AR.
If course, it wouldn't be the BULLETin without a great New Product Showcase, and so at long last, we have our Law Tactical Series SCS—possibly our most popular SHOT Show reveal this year. We also made some small but huge changes to our popular JP Fire Control offerings. And lastly, we've listened to all the lefties out there and finally have our own ambidextrous mag release.
