Danyela started shooting competitively at the age of 11 after an invitation extended by her Dad. Fast forward a few years and this teenager has fired literally hundreds of thousands of rounds at paper and steel MOSTLY under the pressure of the clock. “I never really shot for recreation. I basically started competing as soon as I learned the four basic safety rules!” Danyela notes. But her schoolwork doesn’t take a back-seat to competition, and she hopes to be a lawyer in the not-so-distant future.
“Living in Arizona is fantastic. Our gun rights are essentially like the Old West.” She’s right. Danyela’s family is more than supportive, and Dad is an avid NFA collector. In 2015, she was shooting at least two local USPSA matches each month and would soon discover 3-Gun! “Open division pistol is very precise. The top finishers in every division are usually within a few points or even a few tenths of seconds from one another. 3-Gun is more forgiving and less stressful, at least for me!” And we all know how much fun it is!
As soon as Danyela started to take home some “hardware” she was hooked. “Winning is just one aspect of competing. You have to lose a LOT more than you win, so handling that is a big part of success.” Her High Lady wins mean a lot to Danyela, and she is racking up more and more every year.
“Yeller” to her close friends, Danyela sees no end to her competition shooting lifestyle. Forming great relationships with people and companies like JP are the icing on the cake.
Danyela’s Mentor, Nick Saiti is a 7 discipline USPSA Grandmaster and she invites you to train with Nick and Team Secret Weapon!
